Rehab Capture

Measure a patient's movement in under a minute, see whether they hit the goal, and print the billing evidence — no EHR, no integration.

How it works, and what it can’t do yet

The measurement runs on this device from the camera image — only the numbers would ever be stored, never the video. Here is the honest state of it.

Joint angle & range of motion

Per-exercise angle at the joint, range and change vs the last visit.

  • Knee, elbow, shoulder, hip, ankle, hip abduction
  • Side-on for knee/shoulder/hip/ankle; face the camera for abduction

Reps, timing, steadiness

What the patient actually did, not what they reported.

  • Rep count, seconds per rep
  • Rep-to-rep steadiness

Movement quality flags

Signs the joint isn’t doing the work — trunk lean, left/right asymmetry, range short of the goal.

Privacy & offline

Video never leaves the device; only derived numbers would be stored. The pose model, WASM and demo videos are bundled locally, so it runs with no internet at all — useful for a clinic with poor connectivity or for a no-network demo.

Billing evidence

The measured change assembled into code-mapped lines (98975, 98977/98985, 98979/98980/98981), each linked to its source.

Home exercise between visits next build

The lever that matters most: getting patients to actually do the exercises. Assigned programmes, completed-set records, reminders.

Not yet: diagnosis, or causal claims v2

This tool measures and documents. It does not diagnose, and it does not claim the treatment caused the change.

Demo videos

One recorded demo clip per exercise — squat (knee), bench press (elbow), shoulder press (shoulder), deadlift (hip), band dorsiflexion (ankle) and side-lying abduction (hip abduction). The first four are CC BY 3.0 (FitnessScape, via Wikimedia Commons); the ankle and abduction clips are from YouTube and are internal test clips only — replace with licensed footage before public use. Use them to try the flow without a patient.

Known limitation: recorded demo videos are filmed front-on, where a knee or shoulder angle barely changes in the image, so a clip may show a flat measurement. The camera path filmed side-on is the accurate one, and the “worked example” always shows the full flow.
